Silica Gel for Chromatography, Base-deactivated Octadecylsilyl

Chromatographic reagent grade of commerce.

A very finely divided (3 to 10  µm) silica gel chemically modified at the surface by the introduction of octadecylsilyl groups and deactivated for the separation of basic components by careful washing and hydrolysing most of the superficial siloxane bridges. The particle size is stated after the name of the reagent in tests where it is used.
