Hexane C6H14  =  86.2 (110-54-3)

A colourless flammable liquid; bp2010_v4_02_03_appendix_i_1a_d d_20_20.png, 0.659 to 0.663; bp2010_v4_02_03_appendix_i_1a_d n_20_d.png, 1.375 to 1.376. Not less than 95% distils between 67° and 69°.

Hexane used in spectrophotometry has a minimum transmittance of 97% between 260  nm and 420  nm, determined using water in the reference cell.
