Potassium Iodate VS

Potassium Iodate VS KIO3 = 214.0

For a 0.05m solution Dissolve 10.7 g of potassium iodate in sufficient water to produce 1000 mL.

Ascertain its exact concentration in the following manner. Dilute 25 mL of the solution to 100 mL with water and to 20 mL of this solution add 2 g of potassium iodide and 10 mL of dilute sulfuric acid. Titrate with 0.1m sodium thiosulfate VS using 1 mL of starch solution, added towards the end of the titration, as indicator. Each mL of 0.1m sodium thiosulfate VS is equivalent to 3.566 mg of KIO3.
