Zinc, Activated |
Zinc, Activated Cover a quantity of zinc, in granules, pellets or cylinders, with a solution containing 50 µg of chloroplatinic(iv) acid per mL. Allow to stand for 10 minutes, wash, drain and dry immediately.
Complies with the following tests.
Arsenic To 5 g add 15 mL of hydrochloric acid and 25 mL of water. Add 0.1 mL of tin(ii) chloride solution AsT and 5 mL of 0.1m potassium iodide. Using the apparatus and procedure described for the limit test for arsenic, Appendix VII, no stain is produced on the mercury(ii) bromide paper.
Activity Repeat the test for arsenic using the same reagents and adding 1 mL of arsenic standard solution (1 ppm As). An appreciable stain appears on the mercury(ii) bromide paper.
