Chromatographic reagent grade of commerce containing not less than 96.0% of C₇H₁₅NaO₃S, calculated with reference to the anhydrous substance.

Complies with the following tests.

Water Not more than 8%, Appendix IX C. Use 0.3 g.

Assay Dissolve 0.15 g in 50 mL of anhydrous acetic acid and carry out Method I for non-aqueous titration, Appendix VIII A, determining the end point potentiometrically. Each mL of 0.01m perchloric acid VS is equivalent to 20.22 mg of C₇H₁₅NaO₃S.
