Potassium Iodide and Starch Solution

Potassium Iodide and Starch Solution Dissolve 0.75 g of potassium iodide in 100 mL of water, heat to boiling and add, whilst stirring, a solution of 0.5 g of soluble starch in 35 mL of water. Boil for 2 minutes and allow to cool.

Complies with the following test.

Sensitivity to iodine To 15 mL of the reagent add 0.05 mL of glacial acetic acid and 0.3 mL of 0.0005m iodine VS. A blue colour is produced.
