Chloroform, Ethanol-free

Chloroform, Ethanol-free Shake 200 mL of chloroform with four 100-mL quantities of water and dry over 20 g of anhydrous sodium sulfate for 24 hours. Distil the filtrate over 10 g of anhydrous sodium sulfate and discard the first 20 mL of distillate.

Prepare immediately before use.
