Analytical reagent grade of commerce.

A white, crystalline powder; melting point, 169° to 173°.

Complies with the following tests.

Absorbance Absorbance of a 5.0% w/v solution in the range 240 nm to 300 nm, Appendix II B, not greater than 0.05.

Acidity A 1.7% w/v solution has a pH of about 1.5, Appendix V L.
