Properties: Crystals from ether, mp 150°. Dec at about 170°. d 1.13. Sparingly sol in water; sol in alcohol, chloroform, hot benzene, hot toluene; readily sol in dil mineral acids. Aq soln is strongly alkaline. MLD s.c. in guinea pigs: 200 mg/kg; i.v. in dogs: 25 mg/kg (Valade).
