Properties: Needles from toluene or alcohol, mp 216-217° (partial sublimation on rapid heating). Freely sol in water, hot alcohol. Slightly sol in hot ethyl acetate, acetone. Practically insol in ether, chloroform. Aq solns are neutral to litmus. Forms salts with acids and bases.
Melting point: mp 216-217° (partial sublimation on rapid heating)
