Properties: Prisms from water. Becomes anhydr at 100°, then melts at 183-185° (with evolution of CO2). The dry dust provokes sneezing. Freely sol in water. Soluble in methanol, acetone, ethyl acetate. Slightly sol in ethanol, ether, chloroform, benzene, petr ether.
