Properties: Yellow needles from dil acetone, greenish-yellow plates from alcohol. mp 187.5-188°. pKa 18.46. Practically insol in cold water. Very sparingly sol in boiling water. 5.8 parts dissolve in 1000 parts of 88% alc at 18°; one part dissolves in 132.6 parts of 95% alc at 21°.
