Properties: Poisonous! d 2.19. Loses its H2O of hydration at 110°. One gram dissolves in 1.5 ml cold or boiling water, in 700 ml alc. The aq soln is neutral or slightly acid to litmus. LD50 i.v. in ICR mice: 23.31 mg Ba2+/kg (Syed, Hosain).
