Literature References: Described as a buffered organic hypochlorous acid derivative with slightly acid pH. Contains a long chain hydrocarbon (surface-active agent). The chain (14 carbons) may be branched or straight but actually consists of a constant mixture having predominantly the straight chain. The hydrocarbon chain also has a phenyl substituent which in turn holds a sulfonic acid group. The complex corresponds to a formula: HO3S-C6H4-(C14H29).HOCl.
Properties: Aq solns are unstable and should be freshly prepd; the solid may be stored in properly stoppered bottles.
