Properties: White, hygroscopic powder; gradually dec on exposure to air (by the CO2). Very poisonous! Sol in water. Keep well closed. LD50 orally in rats: 14 mg/kg (Lehman).

Use: In manuf of mirrors to reduce the silver salt to metallic silver.
Therap-Cat: Fowler's soln formerly as antineoplastic, dermatologic.
Therap-Cat-Vet: Fowler's soln has been used as an alterative or tonic, in pulmonary emphysema, chronic coughs, anemias, chronic skin diseases.
