Literature References: Smooth muscle relaxant. Prepd by refluxing 1-chloro-2-propanol with theophylline in an alkaline medium: Rice, US 2715125 (1955 to Gane's Chem. Works).
Properties: Crystals from abs ethanol, mp 135-136°. One gram dissolves in about 1 ml water, in 14 ml abs ethanol. More sol in boiling ethanol. pH of a 5% aq soln 5.5 to 7.0. Solns may be sterilized by heating.
