Literature References: Approximately [Cu(NH3)4](OH)2. Usually applied in the form of an ammoniacal soln which is easily obtained by dissolving Cu(OH)2 in 20% ammonia water. The soln is an intense azure color. Evaporation yields long, blue needles: Schweizer, J. Prakt. Chem. 72, 109, 344 (1857).
Use: Dissolves cellulose; used in rayon production. |
