Properties: Snow-white, tetragonal crystals. Very hygroscopic. d419 4.78. Sublimes at 705°. Hydrolyzes readily, but is more resistant to water than stannic chloride. Forms complexes with donor molecules.

Use: Friedel-Crafts catalyst.
