Properties: Crystals, mp 185.5-186.0°. One gram dissolves in 4000 ml water, in 40 g methanol, in 30 g ethanol, in 10 g acetone, in 1350 g ether, in 2800 g chloroform, in 20,000 g benzene. Faintly acid to litmus.
