Properties: Slightly hygroscopic crystals, mp 225°. Freely sol in water or normal saline, giving solns which are very slightly acidic. Aq solns undergo progressive hydrolysis with corresponding loss of activity and increase in acidity. Prepare solns just before using. The rate of this decompn increases with temp and autoclaving or prolonged exposure to warmth should be avoided.
Melting point: mp 225°
Therap-Cat: Neuromuscular blocking agent.
Keywords: Neuromuscular Blocking Agent; Depolarizing Agents.
