Silver Nitrate VS

Silver Nitrate VS AgNO3 = 169.9

For a 0.1m solution Dissolve 17.0 g of silver nitrate in sufficient water to produce 1000 mL.

Ascertain its exact concentration in the following manner. Dissolve 0.1 g of sodium chloride in 30 mL of water and titrate with the silver nitrate solution determining the end point potentiometrically, Appendix VIII B. Each mL of 0.1m silver nitrate VS is equivalent to 5.844 mg of NaCl.

Store protected from light.

For a 0.001m solution Dilute 5 mL of 0.1m silver nitrate VS to 500 mL with water.
