Properties: White crystals, dimorphic: tetragonal, d 5.75; orthorhombic, d 6.04. Turns yellow on heating, mp 733°, forming a deep yellow liquid. Soly in water about 1:150,000. Sol in sodium hydroxide solns and in hydrochloric acid. Practically insol in ammonia water.
