Properties: Black powder. Stable in air when dry, oxidized to CuSO4 by moist air. Practically insol in water, alcohol, dil acids, alkalies. Sol in KCN soln, NH4OH, hot HNO3.
Use: In antifouling paints; in prepn of mixed catalysts; in development of aniline black dye in textile printing.
