Properties: Orange-brown crystals; mp 205° (dec). Shown to be trimeric by osmometric determn of mol wt in benzene (37°); monomeric by ebullioscopic measurement in benzene (80°). Crystals are trimeric. Sol in chloroform, methylene dichloride, acetone, acetonitrile, diethyl ether; sol with dec in aq HCl, aq KI solutions. Insol in water, aq NaCl, NaNO3, NaOAc solns, petroleum, alcohols. Dec when warmed with alcohols.
Melting point: mp 205° (dec)
Use: Catalyst.
