Properties: Crystalline solid, mp 174-176°, resolidifies and melts again at 185-187°. Vapor pressure at 20°: 1.4 ´ 10-7 mm Hg. Soly in water at 20°: 0.02 mg/l. Soly at 20° (g/l): carbon tetrachloride 300; chloroform 450; tetrachloroethylene 255. Stable to heat and alkali but hydrolyzed by mild acidic conditions. LD50 orally in rats: 1200-2000 mg/kg (Boyce).
Melting point: mp 174-176°, resolidifies and melts again at 185-187°
Toxicity data: LD50 orally in rats: 1200-2000 mg/kg (Boyce)
Use: As molluscicide (against snails carrying bilharzia flukes).
